“Zone 4, we got the momentum.” - Naw 4 Real

Shawty Lo once famously professed that there “must be two sides.” Despite the obvious sarcasm, there was probably been some credence to it. I can’t speak for Shawty Lo’s neighborhood, but I know that growing up in Southwest Atlanta could be an unrelenting paradox. The plug lives there but so does the mayor. There are lawyers and doctors that wake up to gunshots and sirens. There are million dollar mansions with junkies sauntering across front yard.

“The takers they ready to rob, the dealers they ready to serve. No nine to five but that’s they job.” - Job

Embodying the SWATS in 25 minutes is almost impossible, yet Quez4real does it effortlessly on Naw 4 Real. From the “4” in the title to the “Campbellton Rd” sign in the cover art, the appreciation for his neighborhood is felt before you even press play.

Quez uses a stream of consciousness to walk you through his scattered thoughts. In just one song he’ll give his most honest impression on fashion, money, women, partying and friendships. His unorthodox delivery and flow will draw you in, but the candid takes on everyday life will keep you. The lyrics can be so unfiltered and raw that it is almost comical.

“Every time you give me a hug, I always grab your ass” - Mad

“Got caught cheating but it ain’t that deep, I can make ‘cho ‘cho’s while I’m sleep” - Job

“P*ssy bald head like her cat got cancer” - Huff & Puff

This tape is an easy listen; the most challenging thing about getting through this project is deciding which quotable you want to use as your next tweet or instagram caption. The project has enough energy to be played at high volume in your car or at the kickback, yet, it is still smooth enough to spin it in the background with your shorty.

Quez4Real is just the tip of the iceberg as far as talent in Southwest Atlanta. The diversity of thought, status, and style in zone 4 has bred hustlers, entrepreneurs, and scholars that are on the precipice of superstardom in the 2020’s.
